Her work has screened at SXSW, Hot Docs, DOC NYC and Rooftop Films, via Al Jazeera, the Canadian Broadcasting Channel, VICELAND, Netflix, The New York Times Op-Docs series, and in The New Yorker, The Atlantic and VICE.

Her first feature-length documentary, TINY, explored the burgeoning “tiny house” movement through one couple’s attempt to build a 120-square foot house with no construction experience. The film premiered at SXSW and became one of the most popular indie releases on Netflix and iTunes that year. Merete also produced episodes of the investigative TV documentary series “Weediquette” and has directed commercial and editorial segments for clients including GE, Toyota Prius, United Pharmaceuticals, Cadbury, and Conde Nast Entertainment.
