Commondeer is an award winning directors collective based in Los Angeles. The directors specialize in documentary, commercials, fashion films and music videos. The company was founded in 2015 by director Ace Norton and producer Lars Ruch, and together they have been creating commercials for clients such as Mercedes, Samsung, Snapchat, Happy Socks, Com2us, Parrot, Sephora, Rhie, Nowness and Insight to name a few.
Having won many awards for their recent work, Ace and Lars teamed with a number of young successful filmmakers, like Claire Marie Vogel and Sarah Chatfield.
Sarah Chatfield is hailed as a ‘new heroine of the directing world’ by iD magazine, British director Sarah Chatfield works across commercials, fashion films and music videos. Her films have been described as ‘moving seamlessly between polished glamour and raw cinematic naturalism’, and have led to multiple award nominations, including two wins at the UK MVA’s for Best New Director and Best Pop Video.
Claire Marie Vogel is a director and photographer based in Los Angeles, California. Her nostalgic tendencies have shaped her work, which often focus on memory and surrealism. A deep love for music drew her towards music videos, and she has since directed videos for artists such as Metallica, Norah Jones, My Chemical Romance, Ty Segall, and Iron & Wine.
