Anne Bürger started at the LMU University in Munich studying theatre and art history in addition to working as an assistant director at the Residenztheater. Later on she studied at the renowned University for Film & Television in Munich in the departments Documentary Film and Cinematography achieving her diploma in 2012.
Anne executed numerous documentary and fiction films for television (mainly for ARTE TV, but also ZDF and 3SAT), cinema and festival exploitation (such as short film festival Venice, Camerimage, Cannes Film Festival „Next Generation“, Film Festival Montreal, Munich International Documentary, New York Tribeca, Berlin International Festival) both as director and cinematographer. Anne has been working as a director/DOP for commercials and branded content since 2012.
Anne was nominated several times for the best cinematography award at the Women’s Film Festival in Dortmund, Germany. She won best movie for her debut film that screened at a short film festival in Munich and obtained a special jury mention for the same film at the Venice short film festival.
In addition to the ARTERUSH Editing Masterclass in Paris and the KODAK Cinematography Masterclass in Budapest, Anne was an official participant of the European Documentary Campus Masterschool in 2014 where she started to develop the TV series project “Don’t dress to kill” (WT) for the international market.
