Abby directs for the award-winning Netflix documentary series, CHEF’S TABLE, created by David Gelb. She has profiled chef Ana Ros of Slovenia in Season Two and chef Tim Raue of Germany for the series’ third season, which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival.
Her award-winning feature documentary, DO YOU DREAM IN COLOR? looks at the injustices in the education system for students who are blind. It screened and won awards at festivals across the nation and screened at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. It will be released in select theaters, and on iTunes, Amazon, select PBS stations & cable VOD in February 2017. It will also be part of a national screening series to empower disabled teenagers presented by the National Federation of the Blind.
Abby got her start producing the Emmy award-winning series, TRUE LIFE for MTV and since then has directed, produced and edited documentaries for: Ron Howard/Imagine Ent., Sundance Channel, Zac Efron/MTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, Netflix, & National Geographic. In 2013 Abby was the recipient of the activist filmmaker grant at the annual NYWIFT Muse awards and in 2016 she was chosen to speak along with Jane Fonda, Chelsea Handler, Jenji Kohan and others representing the Women of Netflix.
Abby is currently directing a documentary featuring heroic woman athletes from around the globe. In June 2017 these women will climb Mount Kilimanjaro to set the world record for the highest altitude soccer match ever played in an effort to inspire unprecedented awareness in the fight for gender equality.
